The DEP-required annual boiler tune-up is different than the DOB's submitted annual boiler inspection. While they are both required for boiler maintenance, the DOB's annual test is submitted to the department, while the DEP tune-up and testing is recorded and kept.
The annual boiler tune up & testing, including load percentages, must be recorded and kept for a minimum of five years (in addition to submitting them every three years alongside Cert. of Operation renewal documents). The DEP may request these records at any time, and they must be provided within 5 business days of said request.
The law doesn't list how these records must be stored, and doesn't explicitly state that they must be posted. That said, it's worth discussing best practices with your qualified combustion tester (which may include posting), and maintaining a core log of these records for easy reference if requested.
