What is required for low pressure boilers and high pressure boilers?

For low pressure boilers, inspections can only be performed by authorized boiler inspectors licensed by the Department of Buildings, or by an authorized insurance company.

For high pressure boilers, two inspections are required: internal and external. These two inspections must be conducted within the same cycle (year), but should be performed six months apart. High pressure inspections can only be performed by an authorized insurance company (as opposed to individual authorized inspectors). Inspectors must notify the DOB (via hpboilers@buildings.nyc.gov at least 10 days before performing the internal inspection.
