What are ARA/LAA jobs?

Limited Alteration Applications (formerly Alteration Repair Applications) are filed by contractors seeking to perform minor plumbing or oil burner installations/repairs, or sprinkler/standpipe work. The job must meet the following criteria:

• No more than 2 plumbing fixtures
• Adding no more than 5 sprinkler heads to the existing system
• Oil burner equipment with BTU input below 650,000
• Work does not exceed $12,500 within a 12-month period
