Understanding ECB Amnesty

Melinda Hamilton and Dwayne Munroe from the Department of Finance were on hand to discuss details of the ECB Amnesty program. RealFocus guests had the opportunity to ask specific questions about how to take advantage of the limited-time program for their portfolios.

A Deep Dive into the NFPA

Mark Valentino from Croker Fire Drill led attendees through the National Fire Protection Association standards (one standout – are you aware of regulations for holiday décor, specifically trees?). With the new fire code and subsequent promulgated rules, it’s critical to understand what’s required for your property. Check out slides from this year’s RealFocus to review some key points.

Compliance Round-Up

In addition to ECB Amnesty and the NFPA, guests also got detailed information on the following:
• New cooling tower regulations for NYC and NY State from Scott Lenzi (the November 1st certification due date is next week!)
• Navigating compliance laws from longtime industry experts Lori Boccadoro, Rob Hochman, and Mark Hertz (What’s coming down the road? Expect increased construction enforcement and scrutiny)
• The ins and outs of mold, lead, and asbestos violations (oh my!), as reviewed by Josh Sarett from ALC Environmental, a RealFocus Partner (FYI – are you aware of new mold regulations for remediation work released this year?)

The Debut of SiteCompli U

SiteCompli’s own Julian Starr (alongside yours truly) led attendees through the very first SiteCompli Certified – Compliance 101 course! Participants interacted and answered questions about complaints and violations, administrative fines and requirements, and construction regulations. Reviewing DOB NOW

To wrap up the day, Archana Jayaram from the Department of Buildings reviewed the new DOB NOW system. DOB NOW launched a few weeks ago with job filings and façade inspections – information you can access directly in your SiteCompli account.
