Local Law 84 Benchmarking Starter Guide & Energy Compliance Resources For 2021

As the Sustainability Help Center so aptly put it, 2021 Benchmarking Season is here!

That means any properties on the covered buildings list have until May 1, 2021 to submit Benchmarking data for the 2020 calendar year.

If you’re unsure whether or not your property is required to submit Benchmarking, you can check the most recent covered buildings list here. If you’re a SiteCompli or InCheck user, we’ll show you that information directly in your account (including whether or not you’re required to report water data for your property).

And if you need some help to get started, the Sustainability Help Center put together some great resources:

Additionally, the SHC is offering two more educational courses that may be super helpful to your team – especially when it comes to future regulations with steep penalties.

The Building Energy Compliance Seminar kicks off March 30th, exploring how you can minimize or eliminate LL 97 financial penalties for carbon emissions. The interactive training will be in four parts, but is a great (and free!) way to start planning on reducing your LL 97 risk before penalties set in over the coming years.

If you’re more interested in learning about general building energy laws, they’re also offering a 3-hour intro course on April 8th.

If you have questions about any of the above offerings or want to get specific information for your building, you can always reach out to help@NYCsustainability.org. For questions on how you can track Benchmarking work in InCheck, or view Benchmarking information in SiteCompli, chat with our team at support@sitecompli.com.
