DOB Bulletins

Adopted Rules
- DSNY – Chain Store trash set-out requirements
- HPD – Self-closing door inspection program
- HPD – Repair of underlying conditions
NEW – Required DOB Parapet Observations
Starting next year (January 1, 2024), the DOB will require annual parapet observations for “all buildings with parapets fronting the public right-of-way, regardless of height, except for detached 1- or 2-family homes or buildings with a fence or other barrier preventing access to the exterior wall.” Specific requirements for the observation, who can perform observations, and reporting (including keeping records for 6 years) are in the text of the law.

Reminder – proposed rules could go into effect after a public comment period, which may result in changes to the initial rules. Rules aren’t finalized until they’re adopted.
