Class 1 DOB-ECB violations are marked immediately hazardous, and are the most severe DOB-ECB infractions. Cure dates are not offered for Class 1 violations, making it necessary for named respondents to both submit a Certificate of Correction and attend a hearing/pay the subsequent fine in order to fully close a violation.
According to the DOB, proof of compliance for a Class 1 violation must be submitted “immediately,” which is typically recognized as 75 – 90 days from the issue date. Failure to submit a Certificate of Correction before this time frame may result in additional penalties in the form of an AEUHAZ1.
