DOB Complaints and Violations
Individuals can log 311 complaints for building-specific issues, and DOB inspectors may issue violations for any resulting infractions. These violations are tied to a hearing and possible fine from the Environmental Control Board. Failure to close DOB violations may result in escalated penalties, hold up a transaction or refinance, and will prevent issuance of a Final Certificate of Occupancy.
