What is an FDNY Certificate of Correction?

Click here to view an FDNY-specific Certificate of Correction, used to correct and comply with FDNY Notices of Violation.

We recommend submitting FDNY Certificates of Correction in person at MetroTech Center to avoid any issues with corrections getting lost in the mail. That said, Certificates of Correction mailed in before the cure date (if applicable) are usually processed swiftly.

Directions via mail:
Return the complete Certificate of Correction with all appropriate documentation, to the Bureau of Legal Affairs, Administrative Enforcement Unit, 9 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, New York 11201-3857 on or before the return date specified on the Notice of Violation.

Directions in person:
FDNY Public Records Unit
9 MetroTech Center- First Floor
Brooklyn, N.Y. 11201
Use the FLATBUSH AVENUE ENTRANCE
Hours of Operation:
Monday- Friday 9:00am to 12:00pm (except Holidays)
