The start of another year brings a slew of compliance due dates with it. Don’t worry – we’ve got the most critical ones covered in our most-downloaded annual resource: the NYC Compliance Checklist, now updated for 2026!
Download your Checklist here, and get the scoop on what’s new below:
More Filing Subcycles Kicking Off
Two major filing Subcycles are kicking off in 2026:
- Subcycle B for Cycle 10 FISP – covering required properties with blocks ending in 0, 7, or 8 (starts February 21st and ends two years later in 2028)
- Subcycle C for Cycle 1 Parking Structure Inspections (PIPS) – covering all required structures in Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island (starts January 1st and ends two years later on December 31, 2027)
Both Subcycles have two year filing ranges (though teams with previous NRF facade statuses can file early for Cycle 10 to prevent penalties).
Not sure if you have required properties in either space? It’s all in your SiteCompli or InCheck account. Just visit the Facades or Parking Structure pages to get the full subcycle rundown for your buildings.
NOTE – Retaining Wall inspections are also due at the end of this year for covered buildings in Staten Island. Those are listed here in your account.
New Residential Requirements Coming Soon
While there aren’t any details yet, a new inspection requirement is coming this year for select residential units.
Units with steam radiators and children 5 and under will be required to perform and keep (not submit) safety inspections every two years. The council law has this requirement starting in 2026, but to date there aren’t any clarifying rules – yet.
Once there are, we’ll update your team here & make a new inspection template available in the InCheck Mobile App. Until then, stay tuned.
Local Law 97 Marches On
For now, no extensions or changes have been announced for annual Local Law 97 reports for buildings on CP0.
Buildings on this covered list will have to submit their annual report by May 1, 2026 – the same day as annual Benchmarking reports. According to the DOB, an overwhelming percentage of properties are on track to be compliant in 2025 as of press time.
In 2027, properties on CP1 (Rent Regulated buildings) will be required to submit their first Local Law 97 reports. Income Restricted properties won’t have to file for another 10 years (2036). To see which covered buildings list your properties are on (or not on), visit the Local Law 97 page in your account linked here.
Hold This Space – Future Changes
There’s only one constant in NYC compliance – change. Whether it’s for technical, logistical, or other reasons, it’s possible that some of these due dates may change.
If that happens, we’ve got you covered. Our team covers all major updates individually on the SiteCompli Blog, but we’ll also make sure they’re listed here.
For example, the due date for Local Law 87 EER reports for 2025 has been delayed from December 31, 2025 to March 31, 2026. 2025’s Energy Efficiency Rating Label was also pushed back from its standard due date on 10/31 to 12/31. If similar changes happen for any 2026 dates (and odds are good it will for at least one), we’ll list the changes below.
