Another Citywide AEUHAZ Violation Update In March 2026

After releasing, and then rescinding, several thousand AEUHAZ violations citywide in late January, the DOB issued a second wave of AEUHAZ violations in March.

Recap Of Previous Changes

AEUHAZ (formerly AEUHAZ1 violations) are issued for failure to correct Class 1 DOB-OATH violations. The city has always maintained that Class 1 violations need to be corrected immediately, but used to issue AEUHAZ violations within 60 – 75 days after the original violation issue date.

That all changed when the city issued thousands of these violations en masse on the same day in January 2026. That said, weeks later, the city rescinded them all – leaving no trace of these violations in their public records.

Changes For This Violation Wave

It appears that a new wave of AEUHAZ violations was issued on March 17th. Like the January batch, these violations have no direct reference to the preceding DOB OATH violation, and $0.00 as an associated fine amount.

Unlike earlier violations, the civil penalty status is listed as “Not Yet Imposed.”

It’s unclear what this means for the penalty. It’s possible the full $5,000 amount (for most AEUHAZ infractions) may be issued after the 30-day challenge period. It’s also possible they may not issue fines if the underlying issue is corrected ASAP. The DOB hasn’t made any announcements here yet, but we’ll let you know once there’s more information here.

Bottom line? We recommend trying to correct the associated DOB-OATH violation as quickly as possible. It may help prevent additional penalties, and either way, will clear the open underlying violation.

Resolving AEUHAZ Violations

Resolving an AEUHAZ involves the following:

  • Correcting the underlying DOB-OATH infraction
  • Submitting payment of the fine, if applicable

The city has information on both steps here, on their AEUHAZ page. If you have questions, or aren’t sure which violation the AEUHAZ ties back to, reach out to our team. We’re happy to take a look at your account and see how we can help.

AEUHAZ violations can be seen on the DOB Violations page in SiteCompli and InCheck, with any open Class 1 violations on the DOB-ECB (OATH) page.
